Amazon.com Product Description Leatherman's Micra -- a Tiny Classic The Leatherman Micra multitool is crafted from 100-percent stainless steel, engineered to the optimum hardness for each individual tool. At a mere 2-1/2 inches when folded closed, this wee masterpiece offers super-sharp spring-action scissors, along with nine additional personal-care features. It's just the right size for key rings or belt loops, so it's always right at hand for speedy access and quick fixes. Don't let the size fool you. The Micra is tough, sturdy, and truly unique. Good things come in small packages, and this amazing little tool is no exception. It comes in a variety of colors to suit your personal style, or a standard brushed stainless steel finish (this model). This useful item makes a superb stocking stuffer, birthday surprise, or thoughtful present for any occasion. The Micra comes in an assortment of colors to suit your personal style. | Tools Featured in this Model: - Scissors
- Clip-point knife
- Tweezers
- Nail file / cleaner
- Flat Phillips screwdriver
- Extra small screwdriver
- Medium screwdriver
- Bottle Opener
- Ruler (inch / metric)
- Lanyard attachment
User Features When using the scissors, you'll first grip the handles at the thicker ends and swing them open. At first you will notice a bit of resistance, due to the spring mechanism that controls the scissors. To close them, simply reverse the procedure. To navigate the blades, just open the handles. Then it's easy to use the nail nick to rotate out a single blade. Once the blade is open, all you have to do is close both handles to take advantage of the Posi-Stop feature. Should a blade accidentally start to close, that blade will be stopped by the opposite handle -- for an added measure of strength and safety. For further stability, the Micra has two small tabs inside the handles that interlock when the handles are closed. The Micra comes with a stainless steel split ring that will allow the tool to be attached to any key chain or lanyard. Or, if you prefer, the split ring can be completely removed and the fixed attachment point can be easily folded inside the tool. Warranty All Leatherman products are covered by a 25-year limited warranty. If within 25 years from the purchase date of your genuine Leatherman tool you find any defect in material or workmanship, you can count on the manufacturer to make it right with fast warranty service. To obtain warranty service, return your tool to Leatherman Tool Group. Depending on the tool defect, they will decide whether to repair your tool or replace it with a product of equal or greater value. No variations, upgrades or refunds are offered. The Leatherman Tool Group and its History of Quality In 1975, Leatherman Tool Group founder Tim Leatherman was inspired by leaky pipes and a cranky car on a budget trip to Europe -- and thus the idea for his first pocket survival tool was conceived. Since then, Leatherman has become an internationally recognized company with hundreds of employees and a wide variety of durable, versatile, stylish products. Created with bold designs and truly rugged construction, Leatherman products are a perfect addition for tool kits, emergency sets, and glove compartments everywhere.

I've carried it for years... December 12, 2009 oldwolf (Cary, NC) ...and I am still very happy with it. It is a great size, doesn't take up a lot of room in your pocket. The scissors are nearly indestructible, and the can opener works great. I've used all the tools at one time or another and this baby keeps on working. Only has one small knife blade, but how big do you need in such a small package? 100% stainless steel so you never have to worry about exposure to the elements.
Missed it terribly December 9, 2009 Tex I got my leatherman micra when my husband got a new one. The scissors were dull but I sent it back to Leatherman and it was returned in brand new condition. I loved it and used it frequently. I lost it, probably by putting it down in a store while using it to cut coupons from a circular. I was very unhappy without it and finally ordered 2 from Amazon so I could keep one in my purse and one in my work clothes. It is tiny but so useful, especially the scissors which are very easy to use, much better than any I have ever seen attached to a knife. It is convenient to have a screwdriver with you and a knife is always great, especially during planting season to cut twine, etc.
Leatherman Micra: Ok for its price. Finish was not great though November 28, 2009 A. Nath (Portland, OR, USA) I recently bought two of these as gifts for friends. I opened one to check it out. Its not bad for its price though the finish is not as good as I would have expected given Leatherman's reputation. After reading several reviews for Leatherman tools it appears that their quality has fallen in the last few years.
The scissors part is good and cuts well, the knife is tiny and not terribly useful (maybe they can replace the knife with something else or maybe one of the other micra models has already done this). The nail file is tiny and useless, not long enough to file anything properly. I don't understand why they would include this part with the micra. The tweezers are a bit difficult to handle and the ends of the tweezers had tiny pieces of flat metal hanging off which needed to be filed off before use. This is a poor finish. Leatherman is clearly cutting corners with quality and I'm sad about that. I own a Super Tool 200 which I bought in Australia 7 years ago and the finish on that is extremely good compared to the micra.
Overall, its an ok product. Not great but ok. Leatherman needs to regain its quality or I will probably stop buying their tools soon and switch to another brand. I am giving this four stars because of its pricing, otherwise it deserves three.
Very useful trinket November 27, 2009 Julian A. Taitano (Guam USA) At it's weight and size this little baby packs some useful tools. Throw it on your keychain and u got options at your fingertips. It can't do everything the bigger multi-tools do but it can be carried with ease anywhere you go.
Good workmanship, not 100% satisfied with design October 13, 2009 Kwan L. Lowe (Florida, USA) I have the Gerber Shortcut tool, which is similar. There are a few notable differences though:
1) The Gerber tools are accessible without opening the tool. The Leatherman requires opening, but if a tool is extended, closing the handles will act as a locking mechanism. It's a good idea, but I prefer the added convenience of the Gerber design versus the locking. The Micra can arguably be used with more force because of this decision, however.
2) The Leatherman is smaller and quite unobtrusive versus the Gerber. In fact, it makes the Gerber seem enormous. My only complaint is that the metal is a bit slick. Combine this with the small size and the perspiration on my hands, and I don't feel quite as secure versus the Gerber. This is a minor point however, as it serves its purpose well. It would be wonderful if there was some sort of rubberized coating on the Micra, even if it added slightly to the size.
3) Workmanship is excellent. I am a big fan of Gerber tools, and have no complaints, but I am impressed by the tightness of the workmanship (not to imply that the tool is not easy to open, it is).
4) Costs almost twice as much as the Gerber. Not a big deal, because it's still under $20 in most locations.
