An excellent kit perfect for those starting canning activity. Unlike some of the others, this kit has "wrench" used to tighten the lids as well as the jar lifter. The magnet-tipped rod is useful. I purchased this for a young friend then walked him through his first batch of jelly.

If I had it to do over I would just buy the jar lifter and the funnel, you don't need the rest. I already have tongs, I don't use the lid lifter or the jar tightener.

I'm perfectly happy with this set. It's exactly what it states it is... a basic home canning kit. It has everything I needed and a couple 'extra' things that I may or may not need or use. Great value for the money. I'll probably end up replacing the funnel with a stainless steel version, but for the cost this set is just fine. No complaints.
