Product Description See how enjoyable your workout can be with the InVu(tm) 15" LCD TV/DVD player. It's specifically designed for use with any type or brand of treadmill, elliptical or stationary bike - the adjustable stand allows for a perfect fit in every home! Watch the news, your favorite show, or the day's big game, all while you burn off calories! Working out doesn't seem like much work now, does it?
Amazon.com Product Description Add a little entertainment to your exercise with the Invu 15-inch LCD TV/DVD player combo unit. Designed specifically for use with treadmills, elliptical trainers, and stationary bikes, the TV is mounted on an adjustable stand that positions directly in front of your exercise equipment. As a result, you don't need to look all the way across the room to catch a glimpse of the score, nor drag your treadmill in front of the TV. Even better, the addition of the Invu TV can make your workout more enjoyable. Tests show that watching television makes users more likely to exercise more frequently, and for longer periods. Plus, the TV is no slouch resolution-wise, with an impressive 1,024 x 768 display resolution and support for any antenna, cable, or satellite hookup (up to 1080i). The DVD player, meanwhile, is built into the LCD head and operates with a side loading function. Compatible media formats include DVD, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, CD+R/RW, and JPEG. Other features include a remote control, an electronic program guide, V-Chip parental control, a headphone jack for private listening, and adjustable heights from 64 inches up to 78 inches. More Features then Expected August 22, 2010 C. Deutsch (Minneapolis, MN) I was just expecting a basic monitor/tv with tuner (wasn't even confident it would work with digital OTA but it does) but was surprised to see it had multiple input options including HDMI as well as being able to play movies off a USB drive.
Would have given in 5 stars but the LCD can't be viewed very well from an angle. Not a big deal though since 99% of the time it's one person watching it head on while working out.
Very happy with the stand as well. Would buy again.
Customer Service is VERY LOUSY August 4, 2010 radcliffe001 I bought this item for Christmas in 2009 - it was shipped on time, easy to setup and easy to use, however about 3 months after getting the set the remote control mysteriously stopped working. I contacted the company for a replacement and they said they'd send it right out. They failed to do so and in April i started emailing them, it's been four months and they refuse to send me a replacement remote. I even tried to buy one but the device doesn't work with any universal remotes that work with the INVU TV.
Now my TV will play DVDs but I can't turn off subtitles and the director commentary sometimes comes on by default and I can't turn it off because this can only be done by remote.
Personally I'm really unhappy with the customer service, they really don't seem to care now that I've bought the television. Good luck with the service department if you should need anything. They are pretty lousy.
DVD Player breaks very quickly! July 16, 2010 A. Appleton (Canada) I purchased this Invu unit, and the DVD player started freezing a couple of weeks after purchase (with only a few hours of use). I returned it to the store where I purchased it and it was replaced under warranty. The second unit had the same problem after about 6 months (again, not much usage - definitely less than 45 hours). It was no longer under warranty, so i just abandoned my Invu. A shame, because I really liked having this in my gym.
Great value and convenience June 21, 2010 Chand (Stamford, CT) Bought as a birthday present for my hubby who says it was easy to put together. We have it hooked up via Charter cable and get all the channels, remote is perfect. DVD Player works great too despite us not using it since none of us works out long enough on the treadmill to finish watching one complete movie! The screen can easily be moved around and hight is adjustible to fit your exercisse machine. Love it!
May be good at first, but WATCH OUT!!! January 26, 2010 G. barksdale (Washington, DC United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this tv and stand to place it in front of my treadmill, as the family room tv is much too far away to enjoy. I never hooked this up to use as anything other than a dvd player, so it's not like it's worn out from some type of overload. I found that I was wasting my Netflix membership by not making time to watch the movies I was renting, and this was a perfect solution for me. Put on a good movie, start walking, get lost in the movie and the next thing you know, an hour has passed and you don't even notice! So I was getting a good walk by using this, but then, about 8 months after buying, the dvd screen started to 'melt' when I put a movie in. Then it just started freezing and staying frozen. The company that makes this lcd tv used to be named Vuze, and my tv has that name imprinted on it instead of InVu. Based on the problem with this LCD tv in such a short period of time, I can see why they changed their name. I went online to their website: [...], and they give you a prompt to email customer service to ask for a repair. I did that....TWICE, with no response. Then I called, TWICE, with the first person telling me that I should email again and the second person telling me that they would ask whomever was handling the repair tickets to look mine up and contact me, but they never did. I wasn't lucky enough to get this like the other buyer as an inexpensive 'throw in' to another product. This tv cost me close to $400 and I can't get any customer service or response. I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED ANYTHING THIS EXPENSIVE THAT BROKE THIS QUICKLY AND THAT HAD NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I will appeal to Amazon to see if they can help me, but watch out....this lcd tv is HORRIBLE and customer service is worse. FOLLOWUP: Contacted Amazon and they sent me a replacement tv, this one imprinted with InVu. I am grateful to Amazon, the only downside is I have to return the previous tv, and the configuration of the tv and the stand are so different from the original one that I can't use this packaging. But I do appreciate Amazon's great customer service!!!
