Amazon.com Product Description Add a little entertainment to your exercise with the Invu 15-inch LCD TV/DVD player combo unit. Designed specifically for use with treadmills, elliptical trainers, and stationary bikes, the TV is mounted on an adjustable stand that positions directly in front of your exercise equipment. As a result, you don't need to look all the way across the room to catch a glimpse of the score, nor drag your treadmill in front of the TV. Even better, the addition of the Invu TV can make your workout more enjoyable. Tests show that watching television makes users more likely to exercise more frequently, and for longer periods. Plus, the TV is no slouch resolution-wise, with an impressive 1,024 x 768 display resolution and support for any antenna, cable, or satellite hookup (up to 1080i). The DVD player, meanwhile, is built into the LCD head and operates with a side loading function. Compatible media formats include DVD, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, CD+R/RW, and JPEG. Other features include a remote control, an electronic program guide, V-Chip parental control, a headphone jack for private listening, and adjustable heights from 64 inches up to 78 inches. May be good at first, but WATCH OUT!!! January 26, 2010 G. barksdale (Washington, DC United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this tv and stand to place it in front of my treadmill, as the family room tv is much too far away to enjoy. I never hooked this up to use as anything other than a dvd player, so it's not like it's worn out from some type of overload. I found that I was wasting my Netflix membership by not making time to watch the movies I was renting, and this was a perfect solution for me. Put on a good movie, start walking, get lost in the movie and the next thing you know, an hour has passed and you don't even notice! So I was getting a good walk by using this, but then, about 8 months after buying, the dvd screen started to 'melt' when I put a movie in. Then it just started freezing and staying frozen. The company that makes this lcd tv used to be named Vuze, and my tv has that name imprinted on it instead of InVu. Based on the problem with this LCD tv in such a short period of time, I can see why they changed their name. I went online to their website: [...], and they give you a prompt to email customer service to ask for a repair. I did that....TWICE, with no response. Then I called, TWICE, with the first person telling me that I should email again and the second person telling me that they would ask whomever was handling the repair tickets to look mine up and contact me, but they never did. I wasn't lucky enough to get this like the other buyer as an inexpensive 'throw in' to another product. This tv cost me close to $400 and I can't get any customer service or response. I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED ANYTHING THIS EXPENSIVE THAT BROKE THIS QUICKLY AND THAT HAD NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I will appeal to Amazon to see if they can help me, but watch out....this lcd tv is HORRIBLE and customer service is worse. FOLLOWUP: Contacted Amazon and they sent me a replacement tv, this one imprinted with InVu. I am grateful to Amazon, the only downside is I have to return the previous tv, and the configuration of the tv and the stand are so different from the original one that I can't use this packaging. But I do appreciate Amazon's great customer service!!!
StairClimber TV January 23, 2010 J. F. Hunter (Boston MA) Just received - very easy to assemble
Works well with StairClimber's FreeClimber 4400CL
Don't know why I waited so long to purchase
Very Nice January 18, 2010 Tojo 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had the tv's for about a month and so far no problems. Easy to assemble although the stand is a little overkill compared to the screen. Sound is great and picture looks good. Although depending on where you are, you have to adjust the tilt screen. You should get cable, I don't know how it works with an antenna. It wasn't cheap for sure, but I needed it for small studio, so I had to get it. But it works well.
It's Made For What It Does, But Picture is 720 Standard. December 30, 2009 J. S. (California United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Was made for what it was meant to do. 720 standard picture quality. Specs shows 1024x768. It's definitely not going to match an older Sony Wega KV-30HS420 tv picture quality. I told my husband that the blue and red color on the screen looks blurred and brighter than other colors on the screen. He said it was made for what it was to do...and he added it wasn't made for perfect picture quality. I agreed with him there. I do feel like I'm watching a standard television set quality. Maybe because I have a standard satellite cable box and not HD(?), but still tv shows look like watching older standard tv picture quality. An older standard RCA 27" CRT tube TV looks better than the INVU TV. The stand and tv looks nice, but picture quality is lower in aesthetics. I'm thinking of getting a small Sony LCD flat-screen with 1080 to place on the stand instead (hope they have a lower weight screen). Not sure if it works, but will try in the future. I tried scanning for over-the-air channels/digital HD, but read somewhere that you still need an antenna connected to tv to get them. Currently hooked up to satellite cable box. I popped a few DVDs to watch on it and the screen says 720x480 picture quality for DVD watching. It looks a bit better than watching shows on satellite cable box channels: The blue and red doesn't blur and stands out at all in DVD mode. 10watts sound quality but prefer putting on Closed Captions while speed walking to read since sometimes I don't catch what I'm hearing. I tried putting SURROUND SOUND once and that made it worst because it goes around you and not in front of you. I turned that option off and it went back in the front...which is better.
I like the fact that I can place the INVU in front of me and watch tv and dvd movies, but wish it had SONY picture quality though.
Basically good. December 28, 2009 J. A. Murphy (Los Angeles, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The picture and sound quality of dvds is just fine. The stand and base are solid and easily adjustable. The stand nicely conceals power, coax, and other cables in the upright tube for a clean finished look.
The remote has a hundred tiny buttons and the label for each button is tiny, so you can spend a lot of time trying to figure out what button you want to push, especially if you're trying to operate the remote while running on a treadmill. The remote is not intuitive... except for the "up, down, left, right, ok" buttons the "most important" buttons are not bigger, or shaped differently or colored or even arranges in any way that makes sense. I had to take some different colored permanent markers and color over the buttons I use most often.
The dvd player seems to take quite a while to start playing. It seems to take a while to understand there's a dvd there. And unfortunately, if you only watch part of a movie, then turn the unit off and come back to it later you have to begin the dvd again from the beginning rather than from where you left off, which sucks! I hate sitting through (well, treadmilling through) all those previews and then having to ffwd through the parts I've already seen. EVERY other DVD player in my life (laptop, desktop, living room) lets you resume a movie from where you left off.
All that having been said, I AM satisfied with this product. It was FAR less expensive than buying a comperable LCD TV, a separate DVD player, and a stand.
I haven't tried watching regular TV, cause we don't have cable. But as far as DVDs go this is a nice package.
